Another week is in the books. It was a stressful one at work. I was glad when it was over. I am not sure I am ready to go back tomorrow. I wish I had a couple extra days to relax. I just crossed my 5 year anniversary of working there. I got to pick out a 5-year service award. We had quite a bit to choose from, but nothing too exciting. I ended up picking a drink mixer. Like the thing they have at Dairy Queen that they stick the cup up under to mix up your blizzard. I would have rather had a couple extra days off. I have to wait until 7 years to get another week of vacation.
Last week we ordered a dresser for the nursery. It came in on Wednesday so Friday night we went to pick it up. We were going to bust it open immediately and start putting it together. When we got home I didn't feel like it so we put it off, intending to get it done yesterday afternoon. Well, we still haven't started, and I don't know if I feel like doing it today either. I can't put it off forever. I should at least unpack the box and take inventory of the fun we are in for.
Yesterday Amanda had to work in the morning. When she was getting done I went up to the shop to get my hair cut. Then we went shopping and out for an early dinner. We went to Old Navy and I got a few clothing items for work. Yes, I buy work clothes at Old Navy. I guess I should feel bad about that, but I don't. The shirts fit me well, and they look fine. I also got some pants. It is a small victory, but I got size 32x32. I can still clearly remember shopping in the husky section for size 36x28. At least the numbers have moved in the right direction over the years. Anyway, when we went up to the checkout the dude asked if we had an Old Navy card and wanted to get free kids clothes. We already had a Banana Card, which works the same. They had some deal on that for every adult item you buy you get a free children's item of equal or lesser value. I'm usually not one to get too excited over clothing deals, but this was pretty awesome. We went back into the store and knocked out some Christmas gifts and got Amelia a little dress. All of it for free, or at least no more than what we were going to spend anyway.
Today we are just hanging out at home watching football. The weather is really nice. It is sunny and mid 80's outside. I've already taken the dogs for a long walk, but I feel like I should find something else to do outside. We won't have many more days like this. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a great week!
