We rearranged our furniture on thanksgiving so we could make room for the tree. I think we actually like the setup now better than the old way. A little change is always good. We got all the boxes down from the attic and the girls decorated the house. It is starting to feel more like Christmas, but I'm still gonna need some time to get into the spirit. When I was a kid the gap of time between Halloween and Christmas felt huge, now it is gone in a blink. It just doesn't seem right. We played Christmas music while we cleaned up the house yesterday. That might have nudged me in the right direction. The tree looks really good this year. Amelia loves looking at the lights and hasn't messed with it too much. We'll see how long that lasts.
Over the holiday weekend we also made a trip to Crystal Bridges art museum. I wasn't sure I was going to like it, but I thought it was great. Sometimes I'm not sure how I'm supposed to consume and appreciate art like that, but when you are right there in front of the physical piece it makes it easier to connect to it. That or maybe I am just getting older and lamer and things like that seem cool to me now.
On Friday I was playing on the floor with Amelia and I put the palm of my hand right down on a carpet tack. It stabbed into the meat of my palm and hurt so bad. It was bleeding like crazy. One of the more painful experiences I've had in recent memory. Luckily I had just got my tetanus vaccine updated a few weeks ago.
We got a new serpentine belt into Amanda's trailblazer, so that should be good for another 100k miles... hopefully. Yesterday when we said goodbye to our visitors I also said goodbye to my Grand Prix. I was sad to see it go, but hopefully it will still be running for years to come. The rest of the day I watched football, played with the kiddo, and did laundry. The Colts still haven't won and I'm not sure but I might be sick of watching football this year.
... and that is a quick rundown of what I've been up to.
