Back from the Windy City

I was in Chicago this whole last week for work. It is so nice to be back home and just have a lazy weekend. It is just me and the babe right now. She is taking a nap. It is crazy. I was only gone for a few days but she seemed so much bigger when I first saw her. I can tell she has gotten better with her hand-eye coordination. She is definitely more purposeful with her hands... less flailing around.

The trip to Chicago was a lot of fun. I had never stayed in downtown Chicago before. I don't think I have stayed downtown in any major city before. I am thankful that my new position affords me opportunities to spend some town out at our rail ramps. While sitting in my cubicle it is easy to forget about the day to day operations that I am helping to accomplish. Chicago is one of our major sites, and I hadn't been there for 5 years. It was pretty cool to meet everybody and see what great work they do.

Timothy O'Toole's.
Now that I am back from Chicago I need to go on a diet and get some exercise. I definitely enjoyed the Chicago food while we were there. I had a Portillo's Italian beef sandwich and of course some deep dish pizza from Giordano's. Both were great, but I think I consumed five pounds of cheese with my two slices of pizza. My stomach didn't thank me for that.

I was away from my girls all last week and I am going to be a bachelor this next week too. My wife is going to Florida to see her grandparents and let them meet the baby. It is going to be so weird not having them here. This past week I was so busy that I didn't have a chance to sit and think about how much I was missing them. This next week I am going to be home all by myself, so I will have have plenty of time to think about it. Hopefully the week goes by fast. I'm sure I will catch up on some movie watching. Things have been busy the last few weeks so I haven't been watching many.
