Aliza was an awesome baby for the first 3 months of her life. She was a pretty good sleeper from the beginning. She was almost always in a good mood. Then a couple weeks ago she started getting her first tooth. She became a little grumpy bear. She was almost always crying. If you held her and bounced her and walked around the house she might calm down. Things have been better over the last few days, but she still has her moments. It has been stressful.
Amelia has been good big sister, but for the most part she isn't too interested in what Aliza is up to. This week Amelia had her first trip to the dentist. She did a good job, but wasn't excited about them cleaning her teeth. She did like the water squirter and the vacuum, so at least there is that.
For the past month Amelia has only been allowed to have her pacifiers at bed time. That was going great. She never asked for them during the day. We decided it was time to get rid of them completely. We took her to Build-A-Bear on Thursday night and let her pick out an animal. She put all of her paci's inside with the stuffing then her new elephant got stitched up. We thought she would like knowing her paci's were still there with her when she went to bed with her elephant. It was rough for the first two nights, but she has done much better these past two.
I think the stuffed animal was a cool idea, but I'm not sure if it wouldn't have been better to just get rid of them completely. She can feel her pacifiers in there and I think it made her mad she couldn't get to them. I half expected to go into her room the next morning to see stuffing strewn all over her room and Amelia with a paci in her mouth. She is doing well without them. I wish we would have got rid of them earlier.
